A recently restored 19th century pumping station. The museum also regularly houses changing exhibits on historical transport and public health. Special activities put on over school holidays.

Beacon Hill Country Park
An extensive park of wood and heath land. Beacon Hill is the second highest point in Leicestershire and boasts outstanding views. Children will enjoy meeting the unusual Manx Loghton sheep and alpacas.

Bosworth Battlefield Visitor Centre and Country Park
The Battle of Bosworth was fought in 1485 between Henry Tudor and Richard III. There are many exhibits and a re-enactment of the battle takes place in late August (the weekend closest to the 22nd). Seasonal opening, check site for details.

Burrough Hill Country Park
Points of interest include an Iron Age fort and a toposcope indicating local landmarks which are visible from the hill's summit.

Charnwood Museum
Exhibits include some of the world's oldest dinosaur fossils (found locally) and Anglo Saxon treasure, as well as more modern historical artefacts.
