Big Pit: National Coal Museum
Big Pit closed as a working coal mine in 1980 and now is used as an interactive museum. Visitors can learn more about mining from multimedia exhibits, as well as taking part in a tour 300ft underground where they can experience what life was like for the miners.

Greenmeadow Community Farm
Greenmeadow Community Farm is perfect for fun days out with kids. As well as traditional farm animals, visitors can also meet more unusual animals such as deers, llamas and feral cats. There are tractor rides, milking demonstrations and play areas.
